Manti Te’o's Fake Girlfriend Seen At Dallas Hockey Game

I wonder if the rest of the world is as tired of hearing about Manti Te’o as what I am? Though I must say that I am intrigued by how this entire fiasco will play out for Te’o and if this “hoax” will cost him money from the upcoming NFL draft. How much of a blemish will this be on his reputation especially as he makes the jump from the collegiate level to the professional ranks? Point is he is going to be on the brunt end of a ton of jokes from here until eternity.

Speaking of jokes, The Dallas Stars flashed an empty seat on the big screen during their opening night game on Saturday, with the caption, “Manti Te’o's girlfriend — Welcome to the game!

The team even tweeted about it, saying, “Our cameras at AAC are sharp! They just caught Manti Te’o's girlfriend in section 125 on the jumbotron!”

It’s going to be a long, hard ride for Te’o and word is he has an interview with Katie Couric in regards to the hoax. God knows Couric needed to be the one to land the interview….have you read her ratings lately? I’m wondering how long it will be until Te’o pulls a Lance Armstrong and announces he did indeed lie to the public? Granted, Armstrong’s lie was about Performance Enhancing Drugs while Te’o's is about a Performance Enhancing Fake Girlfriend.

  1. Soooooooo sick of hearing about it. A dude lied about a chick. How is this anything new, first of all, and what does it have to do with football? Can’t wait til the next mini-scandal…although it’s been a LITTLE quieter with the passing of Stan Musial, which, as sports news goes, should completely overshadow him as its more important to celebrate the life of an honest athlete than a fake online relationship. Just my two cents. Lol. Great post, Mindy!
